Description

Miniature bearings also known as instrument bearings or micro bearings, they are simple in design, non-separable, suitable for high and even very high speeds and are robust in operation, requiring little maintenance. Deep-groove bearings have higher load ratings for their size than shallow-groove, but are also less tolerant of misalignment of the inner and outer races. The custom ball bearing is suitable for precision instrument, low noise electromotor, automobile and motorcycle, etc. It is the the most widely used bearing type.

Chromium steel is the most commonly used material for miniature ball bearings, with high load-carrying capacity and good low-noise properties. Chromium steel bearings are also more cost effective. Many small instrument bearings are also made of stainless steel because they are not used in high load applications. Miniature ball bearings can be opened or shielded to help prevent dust ingress and lubricant leakage, and are flangeless or flanged for ease of installation.
